In 2001, Principals in Design Benefits Administrators formed Magnolia Healthcare Management, a Management Services Organization that specializes in delegated administration of HMO Insurance contracts for Independent Physician Associations. Administration of these contracts required full responsibility for medical management, claims adjudication/payment and compliance for Magnolia’s clients.
In 2005, these individuals formed Comprehensive Care Solutions offering medical management and case management services to a self insured employer group and to the Orange County California Medical Services Initiative.
Recognizing that employers offering self-insured health benefits could benefit from the proven
practices of “managed health care”, in 2007, Design Benefit Administrators, a Third Party Administrator, was identified as the TPA vehicle to be utilized to deliver these services to the Self Funded Health Insurance market.
